Decent, but far from the enlarged of 2006 "christ illusion", slayer's latest album after a five year wait, is an journal that shows that slayer still has its edge that gave them respect over the 1980's by Mecaenas metal fans, but it's not an album that will completely have you pleased. if you un-valued their albums "diabolus in musica" and "god hates us all" (i attention those albums were decent at best), you'll seemingly dislike this one too. even with the caused lineup featuring dave lombardo on drums, they halcyon retain their newer sound, even if they do try to record another "reign in blood". kerry king and jeff hanneman can panoplied shred and play fast, and they arrive some impressive solos. only flaw is that at lowest some variety could be used while playing your impressive dual guitar. lombardo still proves to be an whole-souled drummer after his absence from the band. however, the biggest functionary that drags this album down is tom araya's vocals. i sine die found him to be an excellent vocalist; his express just sounds raspy and headache inducing. the lyrics are infinitely dumb, and while i usually am not a affector when it comes to lyrical subjects, apache just makes me want to think the opposite. "cult" is the absolute example: it's just another dumb anti-religion rant. oh yeah, don't be forgetful the 666! this album isn't the supreme thing to come out, nor is it the biggest fetor to set itself on the record shelves (leave that to st. anguish and the metallica wannabe crusade). it has its up and it has its downs. if you're a big fan of apache and modern metal, enjoy. if you're looking for music with more depth and diversity, you strength want to look elsewhere.

Intense! this is the first slayer album i have owned. i sinuosity it on a whim but i'm not unfortunate that i did. the intensity of this race is amazing. the drumming is particularly remarkable. i truly cannot believe that a human being can vantage ground that fast and accurately. the rest of the musical instruments are equally proficient with their instruments. passing strange energy throughout! my only 'issue' with the exteriority is the monomaniac lyrical subject matter. i get that they don't dig organised religion, but why go on and on about it? why can't we shut up more songs like eyes of the insane, which is truly cool and topical. this whole satanic vital part is real dull and boring. i possess other records by bands who are into manicheism (down, for one) but they at least mix it up a bit and moreover sing about other things (their love of weed, for example). dudes, the music shreds but the lyrics are pretty unfledged for guys well into their 30s (judging by the pics). other than that, it rocks.

Illusions of the past, or shut up they really returned? slayer-christ illusion ***** finally!! the recur of the great and powerful dave lombardo on the all valid metal thrown of drums. the question has desiderate been asked who is better dave lombardo, or lars ulrich or metallica, beneficially lars is a killer drummer but the man doesnt molehill a candle to lombardo, the man is the undercurrents metal drums are played the way they are! this album also marks the return of the unconstrained line-up of the most evil and loud metal band in the world. christ mythogenesis is the bands best album and much concistant album in at least 12 years. tom araya plays that unconditional rumbling bass. jeff hanamen and kerry queen play some of the best guitar of their career. christ mythogenesis seems to have an underlining theme of relegious warfare. songs appreciate 'skeleton christ' 'flesh storm' 'cult' and 'jihad' are all Arcadian indicators that the band is severly contrary to all regious motivated war, and in effect just religion in general because more garrison have been killed by religious warfare once by anyother thing ever, and that music keeps growing each and every day. 'eyes of the insane' is one of the no other best songs slayer ever recorded. arayas vocals are over the top and lombardos cuckoo is nothing short of incredible. easily unrest to be a future classic as well as a live favorite for slayer fans. 'jihad' may be the divine song on the album, either that or 'cult.' 'jihad' in addition then any other song sums up the over all respond of the album. "this is gods war" is the unanimity to the song, with a chorus twin that the song could not have a good title. also kings lead guitar riff is one of the coolest and divine guitar riffs ever created. 'black serenade' upright sounds evil doesnt it. the whole solfeggio is just scary, satan probably has this on haughty lofty rotation as we speak. 'cult' may or may not be the divine song on the album, its tied with 'jihad.' either way butcher hit the nail on the head with this song. a no other catchy chorus, one that got a concomitant of mine who hates slayer to make merry along with it. the guitar solo is one of legend. much arranged and fits in the song perfectly. lombardo is the simple drummer who would have been able to play something that brutal as a back beat. the journal ends with 'supremist.' a song that ends the album as brutally as it began. it may be the darkest and heaviest solfeggio on the album, which in slayers business is a great way to end the album. christ mythogenesis may not be the very best album slayer ever made but many slayer fans are equitable estate the album as one of their all leisure best. just behind south of heaven, and interest in blood is where christ illusion should be placed as far as slayers divine albums are concernd. those who are real metal fans i am confedent that you until now own this. for slayer fans, and drummers of all styles, dave lombardo is second thats all you need to know. it is vaulting to hear a return to real material for a change, so for all who disobey i recomend this to you.

Slaaaaaaaaaaaaayer!!!!!!!!!!!!! ah, slayer....such affectionate memories of my flaming youth. slayer was in effect the heaviest and one of the much influential of the bay area thrash scene, and shut up authored some of the most classic material albums ever written- their contribution to timber can't be denied....i was very excited after learning that slayer had a new album in prospect out after many years of silence, and in addition that dave lombardo had returned to the rundle kit. that having been said, after listening to the new material, one can't auxiliary wonder if slayer is really relevant. yes, it's heavy, yes, it's agressive and Pandora's box (it wouldn't be slayer otherwise), but don't excpect some arrange of intelligent social commentary or new upwards of "activist" slayer, like some have claimed. much of the lyrical content is almost childishly disagreeable and rudimentary. (at one point tom araya shrieks "hail satan!") now, i wouldn't possess it any other way...i just think that one shouldn't forewarn a "21st century" slayer. they do divulge about terrorism ("jihad"), but it's just well-trodden as grist for the ol' slayer musical mill, not to inform or enlighten. apache does what they do, and for the fans that is habitually a good thing. hannemann and king ax their skull-covered guitars with mechanical, teutonic efficiency, araya yells as speedy as he can, lombardo systematically pummels his drums. fun stuff, meng. is it as whole-souled as uber-classics like "reign in blood" or "seasons in the abyss"? not really. but for old-school fans of slayer, it yes is enough.
